The CDP-M555ES brings together the high-end craftsmanship of Sony's flagship ES line and the incredible convenience of a 400-CD mega changer. With that many discs at your electronic fingertips, the playback options are almost unlimited! Better still, thanks to Sony's Current Pulse D/A conversion and advanced digital filters, the 'M555ES brings your CDs to life with stunning sound quality.

This changer is also exceptionally easy to use, with one jog dial for quick disc selection and a second for cueing up tracks. Or pick your tunes with the remote's direct disc and track access buttons. Playback features include 8 Group Files, a 32-track "Hit List" for your favorite songs, and memory for 3 separate 32-step programs (each "step" can be an individual track or an entire disc).

The M555ES automatically displays CD Text for discs encoded with this information. It also lets you name any CD yourself with the front-panel jog dials — or plug in a PS/2-compatible PC keyboard for even speedier entry. All of this text information is viewable on the changer's front panel, as well as on a 2-way LCD remote control. The remote also features an alphanumeric keypad that makes navigating your CD collection a breeze.

To put even more music at your command, this changer offers MegaStorage control over compatible Sony CD players — you can even connect another 400-disc model for 800-disc storage and control! This dual-changer setup also allows sophisticated nonstop music options such as crossfade-play, which mixes the sounds of the two changers for seamless track segues, and No-Delay Play, which skips the silent lead-in portion of tracks to eliminate the pauses between songs.
