The Wadia 16 is a CD player launched in 1994. At its release, it was considered one of the best CD players in the world, even surpassing other high-end devices such as the Accuphase DPV-70V.
The Wadia 16 is based on a Teac VRDS-C Mk3 mechanism and a Burr-Brown PCM1702 converter (also found in the Linn CD-12 player). It features optical, coaxial, and AES/EBU outputs. Its rigid 16-inch-wide chassis provides excellent stability, and its conical foot couplers prevent unwanted vibration.
The "i" upgrade entailed installation of all new Mother Boards, Analogue Output circuits, new DACs and power supply upgrades.
